Work on new skate park making 'rapid progress'
Broxtowe Borough CouncilWork on a new skate park in Stapleford is "making rapid progress" and is set to be completed next year.
Broxtowe Borough Council is behind the project for the £236,000 facility at the Pasture Road Recreation Ground.
Campaigners have been trying to get a new skate park since the closure of the town's old facility in Hickings Lane in 2022.
The council said the work should be completed by the end of 2026 depending on weather conditions.
Most of the groundworks at the site are now complete, and the installation of the steelwork has begun.
The project has been funded by a grant from the FCC Communities Foundation, alongside support from the Stapleford Towns Fund, and a Crowdfunder campaign, which was match-funded by Sport England.
