A family-friendly event celebrating food, farming and countryside is to mark its 10th anniversary.

Countryside Lincs will feature a range of activities and live demonstrations, including tractor and trailer rides, pig walking, polo displays and BMX shows.

The festival, hosted by the charity Lincolnshire Agricultural Society, will take place at the Lincolnshire Showground on 19 April.

Rosie Crust, head of charity at the venue in Lincoln, said the event would be "bigger and better than ever with both new attractions and returning favourites".

The polo display is new to the event, while organisers have described pig walking as a "unique" experience.

Animal lovers will also be able to meet a range of rare breed animals and learn about the importance of protecting Britain's agricultural heritage.

The Riding for the Disabled Association is due to return to demonstrate how horse riding can benefit people of all abilities.

There will be workshops and craft sessions, as well as floral displays from the National Association of Flower Arrangement Societies.

Crust said: "The event is all about inspiring the next generation and celebrating the best of our county, helping children understand where their food comes from, the role of farming in everyday life and the importance of the countryside.

"With dozens of indoor and outdoor activities to get involved with, there's something for everyone, whatever the weather, so we hope you'll join us for a memorable, fun family day out."

Tickets can be bought online or purchased on the day at a higher price.
