A701 reopens after crash leaves two in hospital

Two people have been taken to hospital after a crash which closed the A701 in southern Scotland for several hours.

Emergency services were called out to the two-vehicle accident at St Ann's Bridge - between Dumfries and Beattock - at about 06:20.

A man and a woman were taken to Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary for treatment.

The road reopened at about 15:30 - nine hours after the accident.
