Murder arrest after woman, 68, dies from stab wound
BBCA man has been arrested on suspicion of murdering a woman who was found stabbed in a village.
Gilly Livie, 68, was found at an address in Cheriton, Hampshire, on 9 January and was pronounced dead at the scene.
A 39-year-old man from Alton, who was found at the property with injuries that were previously described as life-threatening, has been arrested in hospital, police said.
He will remain there until he is well enough to be taken to a police station, detectives added.
Police discovered the pair after being called to the property off the B3046 at about 10.30 GMT.
Livie was treated by police and ambulance workers but died from a stab wound to the neck, detectives said.
The man had serious injuries to his neck and leg, police previously said.
Insp Stuart Ross said: "Detectives continue to work hard to find out exactly what happened to Gilly.
"We would like to thank the local community in Cheriton for their patience while we carried out our initial enquiries.
"I would like to reiterate that we do not believe there is any wider threat or risk to the local community."
Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary has appealed for CCTV and dashcam footage from 23:00 on 8 January to 11:00 the following day.
The force previously confirmed that it made a referral to the Independent Office for Police Conduct as it is understood that officers attended the address prior to the fatal incident.
