Police investigating death of child in west Belfast

The PSNI are examining the circumstances surrounding the sudden death of a child.

They are investigating the death at a property on the Springfield Road in west Belfast on Thursday.

In a statement, the PSNI said a post mortem examination will be carried out in due course.

Paul Maskey, the Member of Parliament for the area, has described the case as "absolutely heartbreaking and tragic".
