Man struck by car and chased by 'man with crowbar'
GoogleA man has been arrested on suspicion of hitting a pedestrian with a car before chasing him with a crowbar in Leicester.
Police said they received reports that a man was struck by a Vauxhall Corsa at the junction of St Saviours Road and Dorothy Road at about 01:15 GMT on Sunday.
The man in his 20s told officers he was able to get up and run away but was chased by a man "swinging a crowbar", officers said.
A 22-year-old man has been detained on suspicion of attempting to cause grievous bodily harm with intent and has since been released on bail.
The victim was taken to hospital but did not sustain life-threatening or life-changing injuries.
Det Con Sophie Rowell said: "I believe there are people who may be able to provide information about this incident that can help our ongoing investigation.
"I'm appealing for any witnesses to come forward as well as anyone with a doorbell, CCTV camera or dash-cam."
