Two people and a dog were rescued by a lifeboat crew after they were cut off by the tide.

RNLI lifeboat station volunteers at Wells-next-the-Sea in Norfolk responded at about 17:40 GMT on Saturday.

In a Facebook post, the charity warned: "The tide can come in quickly along this stretch of coast and can easily cut people off on sandbanks.

"Always check tide times before heading out and make sure you leave plenty of time to return to safety at least four hours before high tide."

The RNLI said last year it had seen a sharp rise in the number of people being cut off by the rising tide in the area.
