Man hurt after broken down car involved in crash

A man has been injured in a serious crash involving a broken down car.

The vehicle had come to a halt in a live lane on the A500 in Stoke-on-Trent on Saturday and suffered significant damage after being struck, police have said.

Staffordshire Police urged witnesses who may have seen the broken down vehicle on the eastbound carriageway to contact the force.

A picture released by police has shown a black car that has been crumpled from the rear and completely damaged.
