A family has paid tribute to a father who died in a motorcycle crash.

Andy Davenport, 47, struck a kerb and then a road sign between Swancote and Stanmore A454 near Bridgnorth, Shropshire, on 1 March, West Mercia Police said.

Emergency services were called at 12:32 GMT, and found him in a critical condition. Despite best efforts to save him, he was confirmed dead at the scene, the force said.

Releasing a tribute via police, his family said he was "doing what he loved, riding his bike and caring for his family".

The family said: "Andy, Davo, husband to Áine, father to Kavan, son to Jenny and Jim. Passed on 1 March."

Issuing a tribute on Facebook his wife described him as "the love of my life", adding that his death had not "sunk in yet".

A bike procession will be held on 17 April from Shifnal services to Pattingham village ahead of his funeral.
