Organisers said the distance of the route would be reviewed following the race on Sunday

The Derby 10k race will be reviewed after concerns the route might have been too short, organisers have said.

Derby County Community Trust confirmed it had received feedback that the route may have been short in distance, following the event on Sunday, which started at Derby County's Pride Park.

The trust said it would be reviewing the matter with the Association of UK Course Measurers.

The organisers added it would provide an update following the review.

In a statement, the charity said: "The course was run on an officially-measured route.

"However, we take these concerns seriously and will be reviewing the matter as a priority with the Association of UK Course Measurers."

In February, the trust announced a section of the race, between 8km and 9km, had been re-routed due to ongoing flood defence work in the city.
