Woman seriously injured after A1033 crashes

Two crashes took place on the A1033 near Hedon on Wednesday

A 74-year-old woman was seriously injured after the car she was driving collided with two other vehicles.

Humberside Police said she was heading eastbound on the A1033 towards Hedon at about 08:00 GMT on Wednesday when she was involved in a crash with another car travelling in the opposite direction near the Saltend roundabout.

A short time later her car collided with a Mercedes, also travelling westbound, causing it to leave the road and end up in a hedge, the force added.

The driver of the Mercedes, a 31-year-old woman, was taken to hospital for treatment to minor injuries.

A section of the road was closed while emergency services dealt with the crashes.

Investigators are appealing for witnesses and any dashcam or CCTV footage of the incidents
