A man has been charged with attempted murder and robbery after an incident at a convenience store.

Police said a 20-year-old man was stabbed on Hunts Pond Road in Park Gate, near Fareham, Hampshire, shortly after 18:00 GMT on Saturday.

Detectives said the attack may be linked to an earlier robbery at a nearby Morrisons store where alcohol was taken.

Luke Foreman, 21, of no fixed address, was remanded in custody by Portsmouth magistrates to appear at the city's crown court on 22 December.

He also faces a charge of possessing a knife in a public place.

The victim was treated in hospital for serious injuries and remains in a stable condition, police said.
