Gary Stanley was a loving father and grandfather, his family said

The family of a security guard who was fatally stabbed while at work have said he was a man who "touched so many hearts".

The tribute, released by police and signed "Ross, Pippa, Caitlin and your grandkids", said they had been left "completely heartbroken" following the death of Gary Stanley on 28 February.

A man has been charged with murder following the incident at Centre:MK in Milton Keynes.

The family said he would be remembered for his "infectious smile" and they thanked the public and emergency services who helped at the scene.

"Your kindness and efforts mean more to us than we can put into words," they said.

"We are completely heartbroken. Finding the words to express our grief feels impossible right now.

"The pain is overwhelming, and we are just trying to navigate each day as it comes.

"What we do know is that Gary truly touched so many hearts.

"He will always be remembered for his infectious smile, his silly videos, and simply for being him. He brought laughter and warmth wherever he went."

A one-minute silence took place at 13:15 BST on Monday in honour of the Centre:MK security guard.

It was held to coincide with his funeral.

Rory Wilson, 50, from Towcester, Northamptonshire, has appeared in court charged with murder and a trial has been scheduled for September.
