Man suffers life-threatening injuries in M1 crash

A man has suffered life-threatening injuries after a crash on the M1 motorway in South Yorkshire.

A red Kia EV6 crashed on the junction 32 slip road for the southbound side near Morthen shortly before 18:00 GMT on Tuesday, South Yorkshire Police said.

A man aged in his 30s was taken to hospital, the force said, with the M1 subsequently closed between junctions 32 and 33.

The motorway has since reopened, with anyone who witnessed the incident or has relevant dashcam footage asked to contact police.
