Fly-tippers block road with tyres and nappies
Hinckley and Bosworth Borough CouncilAn investigation has been launched after fly-tippers blocked a road in Leicestershire with a large pile of tyres, nappies and other rubbish.
Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Council said it believed the waste was tipped across Fox Covert Lane, Stoke Golding, on Tuesday night.
Council staff said they spent four hours clearing the dumped rubbish so the road could reopen on Thursday.
The authority said the dump also included hundreds of used puppy pads, food waste, a petrol tank and containers full of sand.
It cost about £2,000 to clear the road and dispose of the waste, the authority said.
Council investigators have asked anyone with information about the culprits to get in touch.
