Cannabis plants were found in a house where a fire tore through the roof space, damaging neighbouring homes.

Crews were called to the scene on Elizabeth Way in Chesterton, Cambridge, at about 22:30 GMT on Wednesday.

Firefighters from Cambridge and Cottenham attended and the road was closed while they tackled the flames.

Cambridgeshire Police said cannabis plants, of unknown value, were found inside. No arrests have been made.

An investigation into the cause of the blaze was ongoing, Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service said.
