Seven people have been arrested following the discovery of an alleged cannabis farm inside the former Wick High School in Caithness.

Police Scotland said officers executed a warrant on Thursday.

Two men aged 23 along with four other men aged 27, 35, 44 and 46 and a 17-year-old boy have been arrested.

The school in Wick has been empty since 2017 when the secondary moved to a new location with modern facilities.

A police spokesperson said: "Inquiries are ongoing and there will be a continued police presence in the area.

"Anyone with any information is asked to contact 101 quoting reference 0947 of 27 January, 2026."
