Man, 78, in court over murder of 77-year-old woman

A pensioner has appeared in court charged with the murder of a 77-year-old woman.

Michael Wall, 78 and from Stockton, is accused of murdering Dorothy Wall on 15 March.

He appeared via video link at Teesside Crown Court from HMP Holme House where he spoke only to confirm his name and that he could see and hear proceedings.

Hall, of Hillcrest Avenue, was remanded into custody with a plea hearing set for 16 April.

Cleveland Police previously said they found the victim deceased at a home on Hillcrest Avenue after being called shortly before 01:00 GMT on 15 March.
