A recycling crew who were out on collection duty stepped in to provide medical support to a man who had collapsed while on shift.

Ryan Hinton and Joshua Foster-Naisbit saw an individual in distress at Repton Park in Ashford, Kent, and helped until medical professionals arrived.

Foster-Naisbit, a street cleaning operative at SUEZ, said: "We were emptying the bins as usual and at first, we weren't sure it was a person.

"As soon as we realised someone needed help, we called emergency services and made sure they were safe and warm until they arrived."

SUEZ said all its front-line staff had recently received CPR training in partnership with the British Heart Foundation.

Ryan Hinton, contract manager at SUEZ, said: "We're proud of our team for their quick thinking and compassion.

"Our crew is out there every day on the front line and it's important to us that we're contributing positively to our local communities."
