A12 crash victim was grandfather who loved music
Suffolk ConstabularyAn 86-year-old grandfather killed in a car crash loved music and was "funny and warm", his family have said in a tribute.
Suffolk Police was called to a collision involving two vehicles on the A12 near Saxmundham just before 14:00 GMT on 4 December.
Ian Chatten, from Framlingham, who was the sole occupant of one of the cars, died at the scene, near the junction with the B1119 Rendham Road.
A man in his 30s was arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving and remains on bail.
The victim's family said he had been raised in Friston and later became a self-employed builder.
Away from work, he enjoyed motorsports, horse racing and football, and his family said he spent "many happy hours cruising the Suffolk roads on his beloved Triumph Bonneville".
They added: "He also loved music. He was proud to have played rhythm guitar in the early years with local band The Wild Oats during the early 1960s.
"He rekindled his interest in playing guitar in the 90s and made many friends who played in bands thereafter. He performed with some local acts whilst in his 70s.
"He could be funny and warm and loved a good chat. He will be greatly missed by the many who knew him."
