A man who was arrested in connection with a collision in which a driver in his 80s died has been bailed.

Police, paramedics and fire crews were called to the A12 near Saxmundham, Suffolk, following a crash involving a grey Nissan Almera and a red Mazda at the junction with the B1119 Rendham Road at about 14:00 GMT on Thursday.

The driver of the Almera died at the scene while the driver of the Mazda and two of its passengers were taken to hospital with injuries, Suffolk Police said.

A man in his 30s was arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving after failing a roadside drug test, and was later bailed with conditions until 9 February next year.
