Comments on air licence applications sought
BBCThe public has been invited to offer comment on three air licence applications related to the transport in the Channel Islands.
Guernsey's Transport Licensing Authority is carrying out consultations about the licences for the designated essential routes to and from Gatwick, Alderney and Southampton as well as the Jersey essential route which is set to begin on 15 January.
TLA president deputy John Gollop said recent changes in Guernsey's air travel market had represented "a material shift and significant change for the travelling public".
Two of the consultations are set to close on Friday and the one concerning Loganair's route between Guernsey and Jersey is set to close on 15 December.
The three air licence applications currently out for consultation are:
- A Loganair application to operate a scheduled passenger and cargo service between Guernsey and Southampton
- An Aurigny application to operate a scheduled passenger and cargo service between Guernsey and Jersey
- A Loganair application to operate a scheduled passenger and cargo service between Guernsey and Jersey
Gollop said it was important for air travellers to have the opportunity and said he hoped the TLA would receive comments on the applications from "as many people as possible".
Comments could be submitted to the TLA in writing or via email, he added.
