Drivers faced delays of up to 90 minutes after a major route in central Scotland was closed due to a police incident.

The M80 was closed southbound from junction seven at Haggs, near Falkirk, in the early hours of the morning due to concern for a person. It reopened at about 10:00.

Traffic Scotland reported long delays on journeys between Falkirk and Glasgow and heavy congestion in the surrounding area.

Drivers going southbound from the M876 and M9 were warned of waits of up to 90 minutes, however Traffic Scotland says conditions are easing.

Stagecoach said its Glasgow express services will go as far as Forth Valley Hospital, then resume their route back into Fife.

The service will not be able to stop at Cumbernauld or Glasgow.
