PCC announces plans to reopen more police stations
Hampshire and Isle of Wight Police and Crime CommissionerA police and crime commissioner (PCC) has announced plans to build more police stations across the south of England.
Donna Jones, PCC for Hampshire and Isle of Wight, said she is "delighted" to announce the reopening of stations in Shanklin, Bishop's Waltham and Alton.
She added that it will ensure residents "feel connected to their police force once more".
All three buildings are due to open to the public next year and come after the opening of Petersfield Police Station earlier this month – the eighth to be opened in the region over the last 18 months.
In a further announcement, the PCC said renovation work is also due to begin in September to facilitate the reopening of Gosport Police Station, which closed in 2016.
