Roads impassable and cars stuck due to heavy rain
BBCSeveral roads are impassable and vehicles are stuck as heavy rainfall continues to hit Cumbria.
An amber warning, which was set to last until 18:00 GMT, has been lifted, although a yellow alert for rain remains in place until about 23:59 GMT.
Alan Goodman, from the Met Office, told BBC Radio Cumbria the worst of the rain was "now over", after more than 350mm (13ins) had been recorded at Honister since Saturday afternoon.
A number of train services are not running in affected areas, with operator Northern advising people not to travel.
"It looks as if the rivers have peaked and have started to drop off now, which is really good news," Mr Goodman said.
"The worst of the rain has now passed. It's not quite gone, it's lingering, particularly in the south-east part of Cumbria, it might even spread a little bit back into the central parts of the county, but that's a relatively short interval, and it completely clears through this evening."
Cumbria Police has warned people not to attempt to drive through flood water.
There are six flood warnings in place across the county, including at Keswick campsite. A further 16 flood alerts are also in place.
