A Cornish swimming pool will be closed for four weeks for repair work following storm damage.

Work at Better Bude Leisure Centre will begin on Monday 8 September, with the pool expected to reopen on Friday 10 October.

The damage was caused by Storm Darragh in December 2024.

James Curry, head of service, said: "We're sorry about the temporary disruption which is necessary for safety reasons."

He said Storm Darragh "certainly packed a powerful punch, but I'm delighted that Bude's roof is being fully replaced, and its solar array repaired".

Alternative arrangements had been put in place for foundation level swimming lessons at an alternative pool, while the gym would be open as normal, he said.
