The family of a 58-year-old man whose death is being investigated by police as a suspected murder have paid tribute to the "proud father-of-four".

David Rogers, affectionately known as "Disco Dave", was taken to hospital in a critical condition after emergency services were called to Felindre Road, Pencoed, Bridgend, on 28 February. He died on Monday.

The family of David Rogers said he "was a devoted brother, an uncle to his nieces and nephews, and cherished son to his mother".

"Family meant everything to him", they said in a statement.

His partner Abbie said: "He was loved by all that knew him. My person, my forever, my best friend.

"We as a family don't even know how to begin to move on without him. The children could never have asked for a better stepdad that always went above and beyond.

"We, as a family, are now left with a hole in our lives that will never be filled."
