A breakfast event to support war veterans is to take place in Coventry.

Coventry Rugby Club said it would provide a "relaxing and welcoming atmosphere" for veterans and their families at its venue on 14 January from 10:00 GMT.

Coventry City Council encouraged veterans to attend the event to meet "likeminded people" and have some mid-week fun.

The two-hour breakfast club will take place at the venue in Melbourne Road and aims to help families connect through food and conversation and enjoy a morning together, the council added.

The event is in collaboration with charity Veterans Contact Point, Coventry City Council and The Poppy Factory.

Activities including walking rugby, walking netball and walking around the rugby pitch will also be available as part of the breakfast club.
