Part of a town centre was cordoned off as fire crews dealt with a section of a building that was in danger of falling on to the street below.

Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service said it was called to reports of a "dangerous structure" in High West Street in Dorchester, Dorset shortly after 12:00 GMT on Saturday.

Crews worked from an aerial platform to remove loose wood from the front of the three-storey building but discovered a live electricity cable underneath which required engineers to deal with.

The road was reopened later in the day, although a section of pavement remained sealed off.
