A45 closed after three cars and a lorry crash

A crash involving three cars and a lorry closed a busy Northamptonshire road.

National Highways said the A45 was shut at about 12:30 GMT in both directions between the A14 junction 13 for Thrapston and the A6 for Rushden.

Police, fire and paramedics were sent, with the Northamptonshire force starting an investigation into the cause.

At about 21:20, National Highways said investigation work had been completed, with all vehicles involved recovered and the road reopened.
