A 14-year-old boy suffered a fractured skull when he was hit by a vehicle during a car meet.

Lancashire Police said the boy was badly injured just before 22:00 GMT on Friday at the Roman Way industrial estate in Preston.

Police said the car driver was "suspected to have been involved in anti-social driving" and is being investigated on suspicion of driving offences.

Ch Insp John Jennings-Wharton said: "Whilst I would want not discourage anyone from attending car meets, please remember to respect the rules of the road and not put others at risk."
