Witness appeal after woman dies following crash
BBCA woman who was seriously injured in a crash in Barnsley has since died, police have confirmed.
Officers were called at about 10:45 GMT on Sunday to reports that a pedestrian had been hit by a red Renault Clio on Pogmoor Road, a South Yorkshire Police spokesperson said.
The pedestrian, an 88-year-old woman, was taken to hospital for treatment where she later died. The driver of the Renault remained at the scene and was assisting officers with inquiries, the spokesperson added.
Investigations into the circumstances surrounding the crash were continuing and any witnesses, or anyone with relevant dashcam footage from the scene, was asked to get in touch with police.
