Emergency services earlier warned of "severe delays" on the M11 near Cambridge

Three cars and a van were involved in a crash that shut part of the southbound M11 near Cambridge.

Traffic was held for a time between junction 14, near Girton, and junction 12, near Grantchester, after the collision shortly before 07:30 BST.

There were long delays in the area, with traffic being slow all the way back to the Godmanchester junction of the A14.

National Highways posted on X at about 09:25 BST to say recovery and clear-up work had been completed and the road had reopened, but motorists should be aware of some delays.

Police, fire and ambulance crews and National Highways' traffic officers all attended the incident.
