Man and teenage boy jailed over stabbing

A man and a teenage boy have been jailed after another man was hurt in a stabbing.

Lemar Boothe, 21, and a 15-year-old boy, who cannot be named due to his age, were sentenced at Stafford Crown Court for their role in the attack in Dawley, Telford, on 28 October.

Their 18-year-old victim was found in a critical condition having suffered three stab wounds, including one to his chest, and underwent emergency surgery in hospital, West Mercia Police said.

Boothe, of no fixed address, was jailed for seven years and two months on Friday, while the boy was given 43 months in a young offenders' institution.

Both pleaded guilty to wounding with intent in May during a trial.

The jury at the time also found Riley Preece, 18, of St George's, Telford, not guilty of the same offence.

The trio were initially accused of attempted murder but the charges were later dropped.

Det Insp Paul Drury said that no clear motive had ever been established for the attack.
