The price for a return ticket between the islands will be just under £100

Guernsey's States-owned Aurigny has dropped the prices of its inter-island flights after announcing them last week.

It announced two daily return trips with prices starting from £69.99 one way, but has now said fares will be £49.99 one way.

Aurigny was granted a licence, needed for designated lifeline routes, to fly between Guernsey and Jersey at the end of last year following the collapse of Blue Islands.

The airline said it was trying to boost the number of people using the route - citing passenger figures of 115,000 in 2019 compared to 64,000 in 2025.

The creature was found extremely weak and suffering from malnutrition

A veterinary practice in Jersey has given "life-saving treatment" to a sea turtle that washed up on the island, hundreds of miles from home.

The loggerhead turtle was taken to New Era Vets after it was found on a beach by a member of the public during Storm Goretti.

The creature was found extremely weak and suffering from malnutrition, but now Crush the turtle is being cared for at the hospital in St Saviour until it can be transferred to a sea life centre for further treatment and rehabilitation.

Local companies have donated a tank and equipment to provide Crush with the best possible conditions, while supermarkets and Jersey Zoo have been making food deliveries of prawns, sprats and mackerel.

'IVF is one of the hardest things I've done'

Christie Basile shared her experience of seven rounds of IVF treatment to show why more support is needed

A mother is calling for changes in the way in-vitro fertilisation treatment (IVF) is funded as she described the process as "one of the most difficult things I've ever been through".

Christie Basile previously paid for her treatment which means she is therefore ineligible for public funding in Jersey despite more islanders being able to benefit in September.

"The IVF journey is petrifying so to add more red tape to that doesn't make sense to me," she said.

IVF funding from last year could be used as part of the wider health budget instead of being ringfenced but an assistant minister said the government's priority was to "help as many couples as possible access IVF treatment".

Jersey's new attorney general has been named as Matthew Jowitt.

King Charles III approved the appointment, which was announced in the States Assembly on Tuesday morning. Jowitt succeeds Mark Temple, who was appointed as Deputy Bailiff of Jersey in October and sworn in on Monday.

Robert MacRae, Bailiff of Jersey, said he was delighted to announce the appointment and was "confident that Mr Jowitt will serve the island with distinction and integrity".

The Attorney General is the principal legal adviser to the States of Jersey who may be called on to provide legal advice during sittings. Jowitt is due to take up the post of Attorney General on 2 March.
