Volunteers repair storm-damaged house on island
BBCMore than 50 volunteers came together this weekend to help with repairs to Lihou House following recent storm damage.
Winds of 95mph (152.9km/h) battered the west coast of Guernsey, including Lihou Island, during Storm Goretti one week ago.
The house sustained serious damage to the roof and there is damp on the inside.
The island's warden, Steve Sarre, said it was heartwarming to see how many people had come over to Lihou to help.

The latest damage comes two years after the house was hit by Storm Ciaran.
Sarre said: "The roof was more damaged this time, electricity-wise I think we are a bit better.
"It's been so uplifting, I was so upset the second time round, back to the same situation.
"The community spirit has been fantastic, almost got too many volunteers I'm struggling to coordinate people. It's fantastic".
Nicola and her four-year-old son came over to help alongside her husband, who is part of the fire service.
She said: "We love Lihou Island, we come here once a year with our friends and use all the services here.
"When we saw the damage the storm had caused we wanted to get stuck in.
"I've got a four-year-old who idolises his dad so we wanted to help as well."
She added: "When you see somewhere that you use and love and it is so unique to the island, it is a bit upsetting.
"It's so nice to see lots of people getting their hands dirty and helping Steve".

Many of the volunteers have a special connection to Lihou.
Kim Carre works at La Hougeutte School and has been coming to the island for 55 years.
She said it was important to get involved when the community was in need.
"I have seen so many storms take the roof off before it did it 55 years ago and it will do it in 55 years time," she said.
"La Hougeutte children come over and they love it."
"It's absolutely amazing, when we stood at the top of causeway there was an army of people.
"All the community comes to help each other that's what we do out west."
