A main route into a city centre has reopened after being blocked by a fallen tree.

The large tree cut off both directions of Yarmouth Road, near Harvey Lane, in Thorpe St Andrew, on the outskirts of Norwich.

A police sign and traffic cones were placed close to the incident.

Norfolk Police said it was called by a member of the public at 04:40 BST to "reports of a tree down" and the council's highways department arranged for a tree surgeon to deal with it.

Buses were diverted during the operation to cut up the tree, but were running as normal just after 09:30, according to First Bus.
