Cash grants to build on City of Culture legacy
Getty ImagesCash grants are being offered to cultural, sporting and recreational organisations in Bradford as part of the "legacy" of this year's UK City of Culture celebrations, the council has said.
The grants, ranging from £5,000 to £50,000, would be designed to help groups improve their buildings, upgrade equipment and create better spaces for people to participate, according to Bradford Council.
The authority said the programme aimed to ensure the "ambition and pride" generated by the City of Culture programme continued to grow.
Applications for support must be submitted by 19 January, with eligible projects delivered by February 2027, a spokesperson said.
Sarah Ferriby, the authority's executive member for healthy people and places, said: "Our cultural and sporting organisations are at the heart of what makes Bradford such a vibrant place."
Ferriby added that the funding would help such organisations to thrive.
"Whether it's upgrading facilities, expanding what they can offer, or reaching more local people, these grants will give groups the boost they need to keep delivering fantastic opportunities for communities across the district," she explained.
"We've seen through our City of Culture year just how much appetite there is for creativity, participation and coming together.
"This fund is another step in making sure that legacy continues long into the future."
Eligible organisations can find full details of the funding and how to apply, along with guidance on the Bradford Council website.
