Bullet found lodged in victim's shoe after shooting

A man was shot in the foot with the bullet found lodged in his shoe, police have said.

The shooting took place shortly after midnight in the Gorton area of Manchester, Greater Manchester Police said.

The force said the man who fired the shot fled the scene in Highgate Crescent and an investigation had been launched.

"Firearms officers attended and located a bullet in the victim's shoe. Thankfully, the victim suffered only a graze and no serious injuries," a representative said.
