Driver held after car ploughs through salon window

A car ploughed through the window of a beauty salon, police have said.

Its driver fled the scene of the crash at Dixa Hair and Beauty Salon, in the Gorton area of Manchester, at about 18:00 GMT on Thursday.

Greater Manchester Police said a 21-year-old man was later arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, driving whilst disqualified and holding no licence.

A force spokesperson said no injuries had been reported following the crash on Hyde Road.
