A man has been charged after a car smashed through the front of a beauty salon in Manchester.

The car crashed into Dixa Hair and Beauty Salon on Hyde Road in Gorton at about 18:00 GMT on Thursday.

Greater Manchester Police said Mohammad Ibrahim, 21, of Evesham Road, Manchester, has been charged with criminal damage, dangerous driving, driving whilst disqualified, driving with no insurance and failing to stop.

He appeared at Manchester Magistrates' Court on Saturday where he was remanded in custody.

He is next due to appear at Manchester Crown Court on 6 February.

Police said no injuries were reported following the crash.
