Attempted murder probe after man struck in hit-and-run

Police are investigating the attempted murder of a man following a hit-and-run in Edinburgh.

Officers were called to Lochend Drive in the city at about 21:50 on Tuesday after a man was struck by a vehicle which failed to stop.

The 36-year-old was taken to hospital for treatment and the street remained closed on Wednesday morning.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said inquiries to trace the driver and the vehicle involved were ongoing.
