Plans have been submitted to build more than 300 homes on farmland.

The development at Southfield Farm, in Legbourne Road, Louth, would replace arable and grazing land, as well as agricultural buildings.

At present, the site in Lincolnshire is used by Laughtons of Louth for rearing cattle, the Local Democracy Reporting Service said.

A statement on behalf of the applicants, Lindum Group Ltd and A & W Laughton, said the 335 properties would provide a "sustainable" community including "affordable homes".

The "sensitively developed" estate would fit in with the local area and include open space, landscaping and a drainage system, the applicants added.

According to the plans, which are available to view online, Laughtons would move its operation to Manby Airfield.

East Lindsey District Council is due to consider the application at a later date.
