Man jailed for online mail order drugs operation
Humberside PoliceA man has been jailed for running an online mail order drugs operation.
Tony Cortez, 34, posted cannabis to customers across the UK, Humberside Police said.
He was caught when officers were called to his home on an unrelated matter and found drugs, including cocaine, at the property.
Cortez, of Danube Road in Hull, was jailed for two years and three months at Hull Crown Court on Tuesday after pleading guilty to two counts of possession with intent to supply class A and class B drugs.
Police also raided his business address and discovered large amounts of cash and bank cards, some using an alias.
During an interview Cortez claimed he had won the money at a casino.
A search of his phone found price lists, brand logos, stock arrangements and marketing ideas for the operation, police said.
Det Con Robyn Latus said: "Crimes of this nature remain a priority for us, and I am reassured that Cortez is now behind bars and unable to push dangerous drugs like cocaine and cannabis not only into our communities, but others across the country.
"I would like to thank our colleagues and partnering agencies for their continued support through investigations of this nature, but all the work they do to make a real difference and help take drugs off our streets."
