A firm that specialises in making driverless vehicles, has won a £6.28m contract to refit an airport logistics firm's fleet.

Aurrigo International, based in Coventry, will upgrade the batteries and air conditioning in 25 of the vehicles belonging to Ultra Global.

The contract will also see Aurrigo install the latest sensor technology and software in the vehicles, to futureproof them and extend their working life.

Aurrigo's founder, David Keane, said: "The programme will also support engineering and manufacturing activity in the West Midlands, a region with a strong heritage in vehicle production."

He added: "We're proud to be building on that history and putting the expertise of our teams to work on the next generation of autonomous vehicles."
