Howick in Northumberland being dazzled by pink and green lights

Photographers across the north-east of England have been dazzled by pink and green hues as the Northern Lights illuminate the skies.

Known as the Aurora Borealis, the bright colours are a result of solar eruptions sending particles towards the Earth and interacting with particles in the atmosphere.

The BBC Weather Watchers have been sending their photos in from across the region.
