Northern lights dazzle photographers in Cumbria
BBC Weather Watchers / Matthew ShawPhotographers in Cumbria turned their cameras to the sky as the Northern Lights made an appearance in the county during breaks in the cloud.
Known as the Aurora Borealis, the bright colours are a result of solar eruptions sending particles towards the Earth and interacting with particles in the atmosphere.
