Officer did not reveal ex-partner's criminal record
Getty ImagesA police officer failed to disclose that her ex-partner had previous criminal convictions whilst they were in a relationship, a misconduct panel heard.
PC Claire Arnott, from Hertfordshire Police, would have been dismissed if she had not already resigned.
The panel heard the former officer also showed a member of the public sensitive work-related material on her work laptop and spoke about people she was dealing with in her role as a police officer.
The hearing on 30 October followed a formal complaint by a member of the public who called the control room in March 2024.
The panel found the allegations against Ms Arnott proven and that she had breached the professional standards of behaviour in particular in relation to confidentiality, honesty and integrity.
The former officer was found guilty of gross misconduct and will be barred from policing in the future.
