Wholesale milk prices to increase in January
BBCCustomers could see a rise in the cost of Guernsey Dairy's milk in 2026.
The States of Guernsey, which owns Guernsey Dairy, said the wholesale price would rise by 3.3% from 4 January in line with inflation.
Each retailer will then set the price they sell to their customers, meaning the shelf price of milk could increase, it said.
Mark Thompson, chairman of the Dairy Management Board, said "every effort was being made to contain increases, but rising costs inevitably had to be passed on to customers".
The wholesale price increased by 4.4% on 5 January 2025.
