Pothole reports fall as weekly repairs increase
Getty ImagesFewer potholes were being reported across Telford and Wrekin, while a greater number were being repaired each week, the council has said.
Telford and Wrekin Council said the number of defects flagged to the authority had fallen from 276 in early February to 148 in early March – a 46% drop.
Meanwhile, teams were repairing 206 per week at the end of February compared with 80 earlier in the month, with a total of 2,177 fixed between February 2025 and January 2026.
The council said it had pledged to invest almost £91m into maintaining roads, footpaths, bridges and other structures over the next four years.
Deputy leader Richard Overton encouraged residents to continue reporting potholes as the winter weather subsided, so the authority could "really get back on track".
"Our crews are always out when it counts, constantly out assessing and planning repairs as we know potholes and road defects are a big issue for residents," he added.
